some sort of dun?
Post by Aztoret »
Hi there!
I'm having a little trouble finding out what colour my colt is (other than he will gray at some point), any colour experts out there who can help?

Well that is easy enough to clear up as wellAztoret wrote:I knew he was dun, just couldnt figure out which kind of dun ; ) But thank you for clearing it up
Bays will have dark legs, typically dark mane/tail
Brown will be dark on the body with red light areas on the muzzle and flanks
Black will be black, if reddish black as a foal (if grey that is black + cream or smoky black)
all of these above can have silver (Cannot affect chestnuts) which lightens/whitens the mane/tail
Chestnuts are red all over
if the mane/tail/lower legs are lighter or white then the horse has flaxen (only affect chestnuts)
