Re: Smoky Cream? or A pearl Dilute?
Post by Raikit »
He is smoky cream. (And his sire is actually a smoky cream dun/grulla - not silver grulla.)
He would not be a pearl dilute because pearl can not hide on either of his parents. Pearl will always be evident when cream is present, so his dam does not have it because she is palomino without further dilution. His sire is also unable to have the pearl gene because he is double cream. (Pearl and cream are located at the same spot on the chromosome. Therefore you can have none of either, one pearl, one cream, two pearls, two creams, or one pearl and one cream but you can't have two pearls as well as cream or two creams as well as pearl.)
