It's hard to tell when they're newborn as their coats can change quite a lot. Also why are you hijacking my post with your own question lol

You are close! Stormy Edge is a Classic Cream Champagne. Most just call it Classic Cream. You can tell the difference by looking at his muzzle. A champagne horse without cream will have much darker freckles, such as this horse:

Renaissance Moon

Notice that his mane, tail, and feathers are also darker than in the cream horse. To me, the ones with a cream gene also have a "warmer" or "softer" gray look.

Stormy Edge has cream genes floating around in her sire's line (the buckskins and perlinos) as well as her dam's line (gold cream, and the spotted ones likely have it - I am bad at leopard patterns/varnish).

Young horses can dramatically change color as they age, so unless it is very clear then I don't even worry about colors until a year or so old. Yours looks like it will be a regular bay with tiger eye.

When I don't know a color, I usually study Totina's guide for a while.

Haha, you should find some champagne, cream, and silver genes to make it more interesting! I love the dilutions. :)

Thanks! Most of my horses come from just a few mares, (becuase of GP and stats) so your right, I should try to branch out a bit! All of my horses are bay or champagne, with snowflake/blankets. I will definitely try for some silver, thanks!
