Looks like he might have red dun (stripe under mane) and further dilutions.

And I'll either be more or less confused when he gets a more mature coloring. Biggest surprise so far was the Belgian who started out dull dark Red Roan and shed out to dramatic Blue Roan (occasionally seen in AC Belgians; this colt was the son of an AC dam and pedigreed sire).

That probably means your foal was a brown roan. Browns start out red and become more black with age. I should know - I have a whole line of them.
