Conformation report "Stats"

Post by Kikary »

I cant buy a premium membership yet but I wanted information on Conformation stats and what their ranges mean (ex: short neck is better for stamina, thin legs boost speed...) so I can have an idea of what to breed my horses with.

Thanks!

There is an example of what a conformation evaluation looks like in Seina's Extensive User Guide found under the help guides database. But here's the basic rundown taken from my own personal notes:

Face:
light
median = ideal
heavy = inhibit speed stamina agility tempo
advantage to strength

Face Length:
shorter = enhance agility
longer = advantage to balance
enhanced stamina

Jowl:
thin
average
thick = hinder movement by less flexion at pole
heavy head with thick jowl advantage to agility

Neck Length:
shorter = enhance strength
median = ideal for agility and balance
longer = enhance speed

Shoulder & Barrel:
sloping = increase range of motion advantagious to movement & lesser degree to tempo

Point of Shoulder:
lower = increase slope of shoulder
ideal for tempo stamina movement

Rib Cage:
well sprung = ideal for stamina

Depth of Flank:
shallow = better for speed
deep = ideal for stamina

Hip Angle:
flatter = enhances movement
lesser degree balance
sloping = enhances strength & balance

Hip Length:
long hip = ideal for creating power for speed & strength

Leg Thickness:
thick = advantage to strength & balance
decrease speed

Stifle Placement :
forward = in front of line of hip
ideal for agility
backward = behind line of hip
ideal for movement

Back Length:
longer = advantage for tempo & balance
shorter = ideal for strength & agility

Croup Height:
downhill = from hips forward
advantageous to speed
level = level line shoulders to hips
ideal for agility & tempo
uphill = from hips forward
advantageous to strength & movement
