genetic potential

Post by kicara90 »

one of the recent features seems to be a big number with the caption horses genetic potential. most of my horses range from 30 000 to 48 000. can anyone explain what this number mean, and is it better to have a bigger or smaller genetic potential. thank you.

Currently, no one knows how it's calculated. Only that higher = better.

Does genetic potential increase your chance of winning competitions?

GP is just a numerical representation of the Breeders' Report.

There is not really a "Highest Genetic Potential".

The highest Genetic Potential I have seen, was 72,000, though I believe it could range higher than that, depending on the sire and dam.

There is not really a "highest" Genetic potential, as it can vary.

Hope this helps

We have heard word from admin, that there is a cap, but exactly where that is, is a bit questionable and up for a bit of debate. From memory, somewhere in the 78k to 82k range is the maximum, but this has not been proven (or seen either, HGP tends to drop off about 71k and getting higher than that is exceedingly difficult).
