Breed Creation Question

Breed Creation Question

When creating a breed, is the cross to create it gender specific? Say for example, and Akhal-Teke is an Arabian and Turkmene cross. Would that mean that the dam would have to be an Arabian mare, and the sire a Turkmene Stallion?
