Baladi
Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

For all those out there with Baladi horses. I have quite a few COI 0 horses and one of them is even my best horse.

Re: Baladi
The breed deserves more attention!

Baladi
Light horses of the southern Mediterranean. Of Egyptian heritage, they are (supposed to be) descended from the horses of the Pharaohs. Since recordkeeping over thousands of years is not always reliable, this may be some truth combined with much legend.
In HWO, Baladis are created by breeding a North African Barb with an Arabian. The four specifications -- height, build, body size, and type (horse <--> pony) -- are fairly close for both progenitor breeds and the resultant, so it is relatively easy to produce a Baladi from Adoption Center stock.
Ironically, while (Arabian x North African Barb) is used in the production of several important breeds including Thoroughbred, Baladis only create three others, Hispano Arabian, Kathiawari, and Polish Arabian.

Bold Comet is at stud to approved mares at $1000 per mating. Ping me.
