Walkaloosa
Until registries are in place the Breeding Communities forum will be for players to work together towards creating or improving their favourite breeds.
Forum rules
Each breed may have only one topic. The first post in the topic is to be informative. It should help explain the breed, and breeding goals; advice on how to select mares and stallions; and links to ideal Stallions available for breeding.
Keeping a directory of breeders working on the same goal is also helpful.
All new threads must be approved.

Walkaloosa
History
When the Appaloosa Horse Club (ApHC) formed in 1938, the registry lumped together all horses with the Leopard patterning. While, the ApHC still has an limited open stud book (acceptable breeds being: Quarter Horses, Thoroughbreds and Arabians), breeders shied away from the naturally gaited horses, due to pressure of the show ring. Many Appaloosas naturally perform a natural ambling gait (Indian Shuffle). Very few breeders perpetuate this trait, and the gene pool is slim. The Walkaloosa Horse Association formed in 1983, to preserve the gaited Appaloosa pattern horses. The stud book is still open by inspection, so new animals are being accepted which promotes genetic diversity. In order to qualify as a Walkaloosa, a horse must meet these three criteria:
- 1. Be the progeny of a Registered Walkaloosa stallion and mare or be the product of verifiable Appaloosa and gaited horse blood.
2. Show Appaloosa coloring
3. Demonstrate the ability to perform an intermediate gait other than the trot (such as rack, foxtrot, running walk, singlefoot, pace, etc.).

Baranduin Brewster: Main Account
Working on trying to get some louder spotted horses in the gene pool, as well as getting the Silver Dapple Gene to mix in with the spotted pattern. Looking to get a few other breeders together so we can hold Walkaloosa events. Feel free to post or PM, if you want to be added to the breeders list or horse's list.
