He is a paint with a appaloosa blanket. And his paint spots will be Grulla from the looks of it

Grullo Pintaloosa

A pintaloosa is a crossbreed between a pinto and an appaloosa - it is not a colour. The colour is called 'grullo tobiano blanket'.

What Malakai20 said is partially true.

We have been using such a phrase to indicate that this is a coat color, here on HWO. And here is additional information that changes our knowledge of it:

So, according to the International Pintaloosa Registry site, a pintaloosa can be either a leopard coat with 'pinto' genes (tobiano, frame, splash white, sabino) OR is an appaloosa proven descent with 'pinto' genes (tobiano, frame, splash white, sabino).
So, even though it was likely originally a strict Appaloosa to a Paint cross that is the Pintaloosa... [breed]... it is now only one with such markings or also one without such markings that can be traced back to one of the breeds that carries such markings. The color registry is no longer restricted to just the appaloosa breed and just the paint breed.

*Note: That is the first site I came across that actually was both a registration-site for the color registry but also defined it clear enough for at least me to understand. Also, I was able to pull up a site creation date on that site, 2008.
