Just a Discussion

Post by ruby_jane »

Hi folks.

So I'm not sure if many of you on here remember me, I haven't been very active in quite some time.
Most of you may know that I breed arabians of high stats, see examples: http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1475080 (7 stat stallion - 6 gold 1 green)
http://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/1251135 (6 stat mare - 6 gold)

I was just wondering if there is any kind of market for arabians these days? Or what the current "it" breed is :) Just wanting to get to know what the current interests in the game are.

Hi :)
Obviously I'm fairly new, so I didn't know you from before or anything :) But I was looking through your farm and noticed you have quite a lot of nice Arabians! :)
I think good Arabians will always sell, but the "it" breed would have to be the Thoroughbred, if I was to guess. Seems like everybody is breeding or wants to breed TBs these days, and they also have quite a few high purse competitions :) If you want to get in on Thoroughbreds, I'd be happy to help you out! :) (I also know a few other TB breeders who would love to help you :))
Have a great day!

Welcome back!
I can also agree with Hazel. A lot of people are looking TB's with good speed and stamina. I would say as far as your Arabs go I know some Arab breeders would be willing to pay you a decent amount for them if you wish to sell. I find that posting a Forum in the For Sale forum sometimes helps instead of just posting all your horses for sale at a set price. This way people can offer and you can assure that they will most likely not rehome your horse right away if they pay decent %% for it.

Welcome back ruby.

As has already been stated, thoroughbreds appear to be taking the frontline right now, but not just any Tb, Racing specific Tb's, those that have proven competition records.

By the way, Hazel, HallofFame, Ruby is (rather was), one of the leading arabian breeders and many of the arabians in the game do go back to ruby's lines in some form (of course I haven't checked recently).
The sales ruby has had in the past, if I remember correctly, sold regularly for a million and above on a very regular basis.

Ruby, there has also been a trend toward rare breeds. Plus a trend toward improving any breed. We've been developing more niche markets from our players and strengthening the breeds toward competing that already exist. Quarters appear to slowly be dominating some of the western competitions, and of course belgians still rule quite a bit in log pull (and also a little surprisingly, in show jumping or was that cross country?).

But it does appear Tb's are dominate right now, we even recently broke the 10k population limit on a non-AC breed, which threw up a new 'partial' glitch... Tb's actually appeared in the AC market for a short time. We couldn't adopt any, they wouldn't generate, and we learned because of that, that our admins had the program written in to add breeds into the AC when they cap above 10k population. But the backcode or something wasn't finished, so they blocked it off. :D

So then we also have goats added (decoration additions) and horns came back... thus you're relatively caught up to what's been happening.
