Perfecting the Hunter

So this is just a quick place to take inventory of where I am at in my breeding program. I have too many excel sheets and notes I swap between on my mobile, so I just need an easier way to condense some of my information into an easy way to see everything.

Currently

January 25/24 - I've hit a plateau in my Thoroughbreds and Irish Sport Horses, so I obviously need to change up my approach in my program. I am also going through a select number of horses to train and test, to see where I am at. I have been working towards gold/green movement, tempo and balance BR comments, and upping HGP slowly in my ISHs and TBs. I have been working my Irish Draughts towards strength and higher HGP, and building a higher HGP in North African Barbs to start a fresh line to bring in. But I think I want to try approaching my next step from a conformation point.

Irish Draughts
My original plan with my Draughts was to add strength to my hunter lines, as that's where they are lacking. I've gone further and have decided I will only breed black based Draughts. I still may direct them towards strength, or they may also make nice hunter lines eventually.

Notes

A slight inventory of what horses are correct or mostly correct in each trait to maximize hunter scores. From a previous study I did, I found conformation had a great affect on the placings in hunters. This will be a mix of my A-line ISHs, Church-line TBs, and other assortment of ISHs, TBs and IDs.

It is apparent where my lines are lacking in conformation from this list. My focus will be on:
- concave face profile
- increase leg thickness
* add Belgian blood to adjust profile and add leg thickness

I will continue to work on:
- adjusting face length
- decreasing jowl
- lowing point of shoulder
- adjusting hip angle
- adjusting back length
