SGH project log

Post by slayqueenn »

I plan on breeding my very own line of South German Horses, with the help of crowlo's line. All of the horses I'm breeding will be on my second account which will be below with the links. Right now I have a few of them with blankets but no full leopard patterns yet. I have one with thicker feathers and 2 or so with smaller feathers just around the pastern. I'm not sure if I'm breeding for those genetics yet so for now I'm going to be breeding what I have and decide whether I like it or not. I have a few that are trained which I think I'm going to be champing in Driven Dressage, so I'll have half my line which will be breeding stock and the other half will be competitive. In the future I'll end up only champing the ones with the best conformations, though right now I'm only testing a few random ones to see what body type, height, and etc I should be breeding for. Around half of my line is greying because of the original mares I used to start the line, which I'm not looking for but I'm just going to end up breeding the grey out eventually, so I'm not too worried at the moment. I trained only one of them without greying which I may be regretting because it was a filly which I'll have to age to pop if I want a better chance of breeding the grey out of my lines, but if it takes to long to breed grey out of my lines, I might breed grey blanket or leopard patterns because it looks quite nice. If I do manage to get grey out of my lines though I'll decide from there what kind of coats I want to breed, right now the only thing I for sure know is that I want to get the grey out of my lines and see where it takes me. I plan on training most of them myself on my second account which I mention I'll link with the links below. I'm thinking about just breeding light coats after I've completely got grey out of my lines, I'll link below the coats I may plan on breeding just for an example, I'll label them example horses at links below if anybody is interested just for fun or possibly collabing. Coats I do not like on my line are grey/greying, any type of dark fleabitten & metallic. These will probably change later when I breed more of them, I'm linking my favourite stud below to show my favourite coat so far. Back to driven dressage, before I train and champ any more, I'm going to be observing Frost's Guide To Competition Success and a lot of other competing forums to ultimately decide what build, height, & etc I'm going to be breeding for when I start seriously competing them. Currently none of my horses are for sale right now, but once I have most greys out of my line and I have extras, I will most likely sell them or age them out. Right now my main (slayqueenn) is frozen and my secondary account is not, so whenever I get the time I will be breeding and aging. Changing topic while still on topic as well, I'm not too worried about eval in my competing horses as in my breeding stock, I probably won't end up with a good eval if I'm trying to breed for the driven dressage standards. Maybe as long as I have the weight, temperament & height for driven dressage I'll attempt to change body type and build to match the SGH standards. I figure this is way too long now so I'll add the links below and add updates later. Links are below.

Re: Breeding for coat

Post by slayqueenn »

For coat colours, I think I'm going to start by breeding my favourite stud with one of my favourite mares, if not my favourite. I'm also transferring my favourite stud to my main account so he's frozen for now.
I'm breeding this girl to my favourite stud listed above, https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4167214, & this one https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4167217. I'll also end up breeding both to this guy (https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4167053) to see which foals I like better. They'll be linked to this reply after the mares have popped. The first mare popped and I'm pretty happy with the foal (https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4176059). He isn't showing any spots but I'll age him up a bit to see whether I like his coat or not. The other mare is about to pop soon so while I'm aging the foal up I'll update on her. I'm going to train him while aging him up as well since I think is confo is quite nice looking at my other horses. I'm putting him on my main rn so he's frozen since I'm currently training another horse and just want to make it a bit easier for me. The second mare has popped now (https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4176060) and I'm breeding to the second stud to see which stud I like better. The foal is much lighter than the first one since the mare has a lighter coat. I think I like the darker one better though unless I can get my horses to become white. I also bred another mare to see if I could get some feathers although the mare is greying and I'm not very fond of that. I bred the first mare to the second stud and I got this https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4176387, which is a bit lighter than both the parents, though I bred another SGH mare that's not listed. I bred https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4167215 to the second stud and I got this https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4176391! I'm really excited because she looks amazing. I have to check her eval and confo but for now I'm freezing her. As of now I'm aging up the other foals the mares popped and then breeding them sometime. I'm training one of my SGH crosses and once the colt reaches breeding age I'm freezing him.

Re: Studs

Post by slayqueenn »

I've also decided to add a separate barn for studs as well, either private or public. These I will be putting up for stud, mostly for private, so please look at the ad before you breed to my horses. Right now all my studs are either half or part, but I'm planning to make more purebreds in a minute. I also found this guy while sorting my studs (https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4166000) who may be one of my favourites, have to check the eval & confo though. This guy I like but am not 100% sure about (https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/4166153). The barn I have for the studs only has about 5 or so right now but I'm adding more soon. Feel free to pm me if you are interested in any. https://www.horseworldonline.net/farm/barn/202069
