Gold cream & tiger eye (one cream paired with champagne)... likely dun, but I don't see any real indication, however, that could be attributing to the bright coat. That would be on chestnut. But of course, dilutes aren't my strong suit.HallOfFame 2 wrote:Okay, I have too many guesses for her color but would like others help as well.

And suddenly, as I look over her and the past one's that you've had, the thought struck me:
'Well I hope this isn't one I looked over before and now I'm saying it's completely different from my last guess...'

LOL, thank you Oak! She has me stumped too because her mom is Pseudo White (Cream) but her dad was a Red Dun and then I got her and was like, "I'm not even gonna try and guess."BlackOak2 wrote:Gold cream & tiger eye (one cream paired with champagne)... likely dun, but I don't see any real indication, however, that could be attributing to the bright coat. Yup! I've had similar, good head scratchers they are.HallOfFame 2 wrote:LOL, thank you Oak! She has me stumped too because her mom is Pseudo White (Cream) but her dad was a Red Dun and then I got her and was like, "I'm not even gonna try and guess."BlackOak2 wrote:

And still Gorgeous Colors! That pink cream really is eye-appealing. Although this mare is a bit more yellow-cream. It's still a very nice... Double Dilute, Pseudo-White. Congrats!

This site can be really helpful http://www.jenniferhoffman.net/horse/ex ... dow_anchor you just click the genes to switch them from dominant to recessive (or cycle through for genes with many options) Your horse's sire is a dunalino (dun + palomino) and her dam is cremello. It looks like she got two cream genes, and with two cream genes, even if she got a dun, it probably wouldn't show well, so she may carry a dun, but I would call her a cremelloHallOfFame 2 wrote:Okay, I have too many guesses for her color but would like others help as well.

But I do want to add that the sire, isn't a cream carrier. He's a flaxen chestnut with dun. So he isn't a palomino and can't pass on a cream gene. That much I am certain on.
But, now that I look further, his line does carry pearl... so she could be a triple dilute, she could be a cream & pearl through her sire (I didn't look back more than three generations before).
But I don't know. This is were I turn to pearl and cream specialists to have the final word.

So I'm going to burst a lot of bubbles here. This horse is actually Silver Classic Cream (possibly with dun, though I see no indicators). Her mother is a Silver Smoky Cream Champagne and her sire is Flaxen Red Dun (as BlackOak said).BlackOak2 wrote:Abbih wrote:
Despite the fact that the sire's line carries pearl, it is so far back that I don't think there's that great of a chance of the sire having it. We know Pink Caramel had to have a hidden pearl because her sire was homozygous. That gives her daughter Pink Magic a 50% chance of having a copy as well. Pink Magic has three surviving offspring, one that has cream and so does not have pearl, and two that show no indication either way. Her daughter that produced the horse in question's sire also did not have foals with evidence of pearl. And then there's the sire himself, who has 96 foals and no indication of pearl.
Back to the horse in question. Looking at her foal picture, she started out much lighter than a gold cream would have. She also had the darker cream mane and tail that are indicative of silver, rather than the bright white mane and tail associated with cream on chestnut. This horse and this horse are good examples of gold cream. (Funnily enough the first horse belongs to BlackOak. I'd use my own horses as examples but I don't know where my gold creams have run off to at the moment.)
Apart from the above points, she also has the smooth pale white gold color typical of black + silver + champagne + dilute. She doesn't have any dapples evident, but dapples vary in intensity and likely this mare's dapples are just too faint to show against her already very bright coat.
If you're curious to test any of this out, I'd suggest breeding her first to a plain black horse with a history of throwing nothing but black-based foals (bay, brown, black, etc). If she throws a bay or a brown then I am incorrect. But most likely she'll throw a black foal with some combination of silver, cream, and champagne. You could also test her by breeding her to a plain chestnut (with no history of pearl) until she throws something that isn't red-based. If she never does, once again chances are I'm wrong and she's actually red-based herself. But if she ever throws anything that's bay-, brown-, or black-based you will know for sure that she herself is not red.

I was briefly considering the black base, but... I figured the mane and tail were more reminiscent of chestnut instead...
