Conformation affects showing, huh? And to think all I had to worry about before was height, color, mane, and tail. Heh.
My suggestion for the fences would to be do something that represents the extremely wide variety of real wood - everything from white ash to cherry wood to ebony wood. Different styles, as well - only be certain to have each style represent the full color range possible. People like different styles and somebody that likes mahogany oak and style 4, but can only have style 2 + mahogany or style 4 + white ash would be very displeased.
As for painted fences... hrmm. the basic white/brown/black painted, plus possibly a light and dark color for the other colors.
You could even do "monthly special fences" thing. Something like colored marbled fences one month, then the next it's various rainbow-colored fences.
