Having trouble with this filly

Post by Aubergine »

I'm having trouble identifying the dilution of this filly. She's definitely het silver, however, if its silver black, silver grullo, silver smoky grullo, etc I can't decide. Her sire looks silver bay dun, but it's tough to tell.

Yes, she is. I'm having trouble identifying the base coat. It may get more clear with age.

She's a cream carrier. I think that's the reason her newborn image is so bright.
She is also a dun carrier. She has a dark single stripe down her shoulder from her neck. Kind of gets hidden in the darker area there, which also could be the dun, but there is usually a defining line with that dark patch when it's connected to dun. I have a dun study in my quick-links that offer brilliant-representatives of dun expressions.

So I'd likely name her a smoky silver dapple grulla.
