Just because you cross one breed to another, following the recipe, doesn't mean you'll automatically pop the new breed. There's a lot more to it then that.MrtkaCz wrote:I have got a female belgian and male forest horse. I bred https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/2380687# belgian x forest horse 50%?

And even if the two breeds are 'perfect' for the new breed, again, it's still a flip of the coin whether it will pop the new breed or not.
And it does look like she should have popped as an Ardennais too... so you just got the wrong side of the coin.
Keep her, if you pop another that comes up the cross, you can breed those two together and still have the option for the new breed. In this case ONLY these singular breed crosses work like this. Otherwise, you will need to follow the recipe.

You have to not only pair the right breeds of the recipe, but also get the foal to match all the evaluation criteria to create a new breed. In this case, your foal has way too little body size for Ardennais, and is going to grow up to stand too tall.MrtkaCz wrote:I have got a female belgian and male forest horse. Ardennais is a tricky breed to create, as most Belgians tend to be too tall, and most Forests tend to be too light, thus ensuring a lot of too tall and too light crossbred foals. This is what is wrong with your pair of parents too - your mare is 19hh (maximum for Ardennais being 16.3hh), and your stallion is way too light at only 63% body size (Ardennais needing at least 80%). You can try this same pair again hoping that once in a blue moon the coin will flip to the other side (stallion's height and mare's bulk), but in my experience that really is a rare chance. You might want to find a shorter mare and a bulkier stallion instead (but your stallion is soooooo pretty! )
I've been unsuccessfully trying for Ardennais myself for ages now. Most of my foals end up just a little too tall or just a little too light

I apologize, I did read her stats a little wrong... I wonder why I did?
Anyway, Tjigra is correct.
