The maximum number of green stats a horse can have is three, four including intelligence, which is sort of a freebie (it is not affected by conformation, so you can breed for it without negatively impacting other traits).

Happy this conversation came about! I have been wondering if there is a breeding stat cap, it seems like I can't breed better than what I have now. :( I am having a hard time getting a foal that has all good/really positive stats, regardless of the parent's caliber.

There isn't a "cap." The fact of the matter is, some abilities are mutually exclusive, or at least inhibit each other to some degree. Being excellent at everything is physically impossible, and the game reflects this.

Yep I have also determined that even if your horse has green stats it may not have a good body build for showing....I have horses with average stats at best and they show great for working ranch and dressage. I had a horse with negative stats and average stats and it got 4,000 show points....so I breed based on body build.

Ahh thats actually great to know then! Didn't know there was a cap at all, thanks Argent.
I read that body build affects showing but does anyone know when that information will be released?

Then do you know the answer to the second half of my question?

Ahh so this is why my horse with negative movement does so well in log pull! Thank you for showing me this. :) Maybe I'll just do that too then, breed based on body build without putting so much of an emphasis on stats.
