DO NOT ENTER ???
Post by Westview Stable »
In the competitions i see DO NOT ENTER a lot. What does this mean?and why do so many of these have many, many entries anyway. I have to admit I have entered them myself. Was I wrong to do so?

The "DO NOT ENTER" competitions, are (Pretty surely) because those people who host them, want a high rank horse (Champion, grand champion, etc.) without competing with others. I mean, it would be kind of uncourteous to enter in, but if you do, it's not the end of the world. Hope this helpsWestview Stable wrote:In the competitions i see DO NOT ENTER a lot. They may be testing a project as well. Like when Tea tested their Shetlands.

Or it's a competition that is strictly for those who sign up on a forum ^-^

If it's for personal testing or for a forum competition then why not name it appropriately? With the requestor identified. I would personally be more inclined to respect their wishes if there was more information. I just think it's rude to use only "do not enter" in an open competition .

If I were scrolling through comps, entering my horse left and right, and didn't see a title saying "Private testing, please don't enter" because it did not stand out, I might accidentally enter it. The words "DO NOT ENTER!!!" would catch my attention.Westview Stable wrote:...

Also... there is only so much room for naming comps. Do Not Enter is short enough to fit, but something like Forum Competition for Thoroughbred Racers likely won't (haven't made one in awhile so I don't recall the text count, but this is what I remember when I was running some testing).
I think that 'private testing, please don't enter' is actually too long to work.
