Hey there. Quick question, does face markings cause long stockings like the Tobiano gene? I specifically picked a line to cross my face markings with that was before Tobiano but now I'm getting random long stockings on this generation.
I had this happen before on another line and was told there MUST be Tobiano somewhere in the pedigree but I cannot find it

All markings that aren't from Lp, are from tobiano.

Face markings and leg markings are part of the TO gene unfortunately.

!!!! Correct me if im wrong (BlackOak2)!!!!

The original HWO horses never had any leg/face markings.
LP gene came out in 2016 and the TO gene came out in 2018. The TO gene also came with the leg/face markings.

Older horses that were from the horse IDs previous to the TO gene being introduced "cannot" produce a TO gened baby if BOTH parents are from the older stock. Now if you had a older before TO horse and bred to a horse that was from A/C now ..... could possibly inherit the TO gene whether that be face, legs, and pattern TO.
