Filly with wrong breed?

my "Ardennais" foal has just been born but she is just a Forest Horse x Belgian Mix...
is this a bug or something? The breeds are even in the right order so it should be a ardennais

What are her parents breeds? That will affect the breed of the foal

It's a luck based thing, so just keep breeding, it won't happen on the first try ^-^

oh.. so sometimes a mixed horse will be born and sometimes the breed you were trying for?

It's not pure luck. It's based on the genes that the parents pass down to the foal. If the parents are each closer to the breed your are trying for genetically then you have better odds of getting the breed you want in the foal.

The order and percentages of the breeds don’t actually matter- the foal’s evaluation does.

ok, so i need to buy the books for the breeds im trying to breed and evaluate the parents. The more they fit to the breed i want to create, the higher is the chance the foal will be born as the breed im trying to get?

What breed did you want her to be? I might have a horse you can breed to (for free) if you need one

thats sweet of you, i was trying to breed an Ardennais. I bought some horses, that are more similar to the Ardennais in their evaluation. I hope i did it correctly this time
