This one doesn't belong to me, goes back to tarpan, caspian and shetland but I didn't see any prze in the line at all.Totina wrote:...

So... Now I don't know. Much like real life, it's a trail of frustrations, disappointments and unknowns. That is the one nice thing about games... even though they can be molded after real life, I do like the ability to do certain things that real life doesn't. It might be very nice to know if our horses are even capable of throwing a mock full leopard, or a true full leopard.

The last foal from that belgian mare that came through alright. I definitely need to get another and hope for a carrier.

I'm not working on the low HGP quest, but I do have a Przewalski Horse with a HGP of less than 24k that is open for anyone to use.

That's a nice looking filly. Usually it takes a few generations to get better coverage of white when new genes are added to the herd, but as long as they have more than just a simple blanket they should have the potential to pass on more white to their offsprings.BlackOak2 wrote:The last foal from that belgian mare that came through alright. I noticed that too. I had I think two foals without blanket (most of my herd carries fewspot now). But I was running about 15% foals born with more than blanket. I should've kept the first foal, it would've brought my belgian breed-in count up to three instead of just two, that little colt had more than a blanket, but it was far from impressive (that was when I thought the mare offered something for patterns).Totina wrote:That's a nice looking filly. It certainly proves that a few of my herd may be homozygous for certain patterns.

I know this thread has been inactive for some time but I just wanted to let you know that I think I have found a bug with the leopard pattern on non-chestnut based horses. The problems I have had just can not be due to bad luck since it's been going on for several generations of my leopard horses now on multiple breeding lines.BlackOak2 wrote: Thank you for that info.

All I need now, before submitting a bug report about it, is to get a chestnut based foal out of two black based horses to demonstrate the problem better. I have had chestnut based foals out of two black based leopards before but rehomed them since I wanted to bring new genes that are not chestnut based into my herd. Recently 9 out of 10 foals have returned black based and the one that was chestnut didn't inherit any LP switch gene from either parent...
If it's not a bug, then the PATN genes express themselves differently depending on what base colour the horses have, and I doubt that this is supposed to be the case since everything that is not chestnut based has exactly the same problem.

That will be a very interesting bug, to say the least. If that chestnut foal from two blacks is NOT bronzing (considering that it had to receive a red gene from both parents to express), and the pattern is definitely different... that might define the issues you and I have seen in both of our herds. But I also wonder if some of those app-genes can only express on a coat-recessive horse. I am very interested in this outcome. Also about what admin might have to say concerning it.Totina wrote:

Good luck. (Inactive or not, I just don't have anything new to add to this post just yet )
