Why Is This Horse Doing So Well?

Post by PoliteFroggy »

So, I'm not sure if this is a dumb question, but my horse Gummy Bear- https://www.horseworldonline.net/horse/profile/3759714
is doing really well in competitions. He doesn't have terrible scores, but they're not particularly good either, and definitely not good enough to have win percentages this high. Is anyone able to explain why he's doing so well?

Wow, he’s doing an excellent job! I’ll show my friend SMH (who bred him) this and I know she will be very happy :D

I’d be curious to see an answer to this! I have a couple horses that are the same: they perform really well even though their stats aren’t great. I also have horses that perform terribly, even though they have awesome stats. *shrug*

There may just be a faltering of competitive stock. He does have rather strong overall, on-paper (BR, BR color, conformation, hard genes, even temperament), though.

However, when a horse does differently than we expect it to, we (the community) have theorized that there are some hidden genes that we don't know about. Admin has been silent on the issue. However, very early forum topics suggest that there may be something more.

Here's your guide:

The Hidden Competition Genes: All About Heart

And... there may be more theorized hidden genes. 8-)
